    Sure it's not stunning like any Suede album that releases previously in 90s, but it's not a shit record too. If you love romantic music, this is your music.

    Pretty cute album, with some amazing moments as Winter or Love Is Dead.

    this is so lame that makes the tears look actually pretty good. the music is some adult contemporary crap and the lyrics are beyond self parody. what happened to this guy?

    I really don;t understand the negative press this album has generated. If you've followed Brett's career trajectory this far, I think you should have a pretty good idea what to expect. So, no, it's not "Coming Up" vol II, but did anyone really expect it to be? This is an introspective album made by a man nearing middle-age. The melodies are strong, the instrumentation and producton are hugely sympatheic and Brett's voice gets better with age. Like the much underrated "Here Come The Tears" I think this will be an album that the faithful few will hold dar to their heats, and the general public will never really get.     This album is an ambigous affair. I really like most of the songs, but then again I think it's just because I always liked Bretts voice. What's really disappointing about the album is not the quality of songwriting, but its lacklustre production. It sounds like Brett singing to plastic-piano and plastic-string in his bedroom or something. This can be ok to some musicians, but in this case it suits remarkably bad. It's like watching a Champions League match in an empty stadium.… Expand

    Every album Anderson has put out has at the very least shown glimpses of genius. Even A New Morning had Obsessions and The Tears album had three or four tracks that were lightyears ahead in class of you standard indie fare. This album is no different, his vocals are as strong as they have been since Head Music and lyrically there are signs he can still write with the talent of the Dog Man Star which for me was the best album of the 90's. In some ways he's been his own worst enemy by being so prolific in Suedes early years because if this was a new artist the reviews would almost cerainly be universally excellent but Anderson is an easy target because at times he can tread ground so familiar it verges on self-parody. Yes he still drops the odd clunker in his lines and a couple tracks are weak but when he gets it right he can be untouchable. The Infinite Kiss is a perfect pop record, melodically excellent and brilliantly delivered while Song For My Father is poignantly beautiful and Scvorpio Rising powefully evocative. It's not as good as the first two Suede albums but if that's the benchmark that everything is set against then 99% of music out there fails miserably. All in all a very good solo debut and signs of the genius of old.… Expand

    Shorn of his camp finery, not to mention his preferred subject matter - androgynous boys from suburbia kissing under nuclear skies - his voice, still an acquired taste, proves ill-suited to introspection.
