Bright Like Neon Love is an album of 80's-like synth-pop. The songs are not very deep, but they are supremely catchy and fun. Cut Copy is definitely worth checking out if you like the Human League, Pet Shop Boys, or Postal Service.

I bought the "Future" CD single a very long time ago. I'm so happy to see this getting an international release. We've enjoyed this band for a long time in Australia, and they deserve everything they get. The more of this music around the better, I say!

What a great album! Sheer fun, and guaranteed to lift your spirits. Cut Copy share the same record label as The Avalanches whose Since I Left You album, is (probably) the best album ever. Whcih is why I only give this a 9. Bright Like Neon Love is sun soaked pop genius, shimmering, infectious, and totally addictive. Try it out!

This album is amazing, it's like the scuzziest disco album ever made, it's pure Synth pop glory.

At first I thought this album was strictly forbidden guilty pleasure fare, but the more I listened the more I realized this is exactly what electro-clash should've sounded like, but didn't. (It got too fixated on NY downtown/German cabaret guttersex fetishism, I think). It IS retro, and it does exclusively and shamelessly mine the synth-drenched breathiness of lesser 80 bands, At first I thought this album was strictly forbidden guilty pleasure fare, but the more I listened the more I realized this is exactly what electro-clash should've sounded like, but didn't. Really, really fun music. Expand

CUT COPY are amazing. Their sound is fresh and belongs to Melbourne (where it comes from). Love it. Can't wait for the new album due this year (2007).

I can't believe I'm discovering this album now (2008), it's an amazing album, it's like a fresh cocktail of something old like the 90's and something futuristic that you can't quite see but with that cocktail in my hand I dance on without any worries of what's to come!

This is one of my favorite cd's of all time. Cut Copy cross the boundaries between electronica, dance, and rock without taking themselves too seriously. Their catchy hooks and dreamy backgrounds make it so easy to get into, and their unique approach to music makes you come back to listen again.

The combination of 80's synth and dance with an obvious pop/rock influence is something fresh and makes for a great listen. It serves as a belter for the dance floor but also if you just want to sit back, relax and enjoy.

I found them on Spotify....I listened to just a few songs of theirs and was unimpressed. However, a couple months later I found a song of theirs off a soundtrack and was blown away by it. I embarked on a Cut Copy journey and discovered how diverse and capable this group is. Fun, catchy, and even sometimes inspirational tracks that I just love to chill to. Though there is no definite track that stands out on it's own without the complete set of songs in this album, it's intriguing blend of indiectronica & synth-pop is enough to keep you engaged to it's poppy yet cozy sounds. So knock off your shoes, sit back, and unwind to "Bright Like Neon Love"

  1. Sounds sort of like a cross between a more mainstream New Order and Daft Punk.

What separates Cut Copy from the retro-electro-pop pack is the mixing prowess of French house maestro Philippe Zdar. [Oct 2004, p.146]
  3. Bright Like Neon Love feels like the record The Human League could have made if they’d remade Fleetwood Mac’s Rumours in 1985. It’s like the soundtrack to the best party you’ve never been too, but always wish you had.
