  • Summary: The Buzzcocks are back. Well, almost. Pete Shelley and Howard Devoto, founding members of that seminal punk band, have recorded together for the first time in over 25 years, resulting in these 14 brand-new electronica-laden tracks.

  1. 100
This is surprisingly, refreshingly, "modern" music. [Mar 2002, p.104]
  2. As stylishly remote, timelessly constructed and challengingly intelligent as you'd expect from artists like these. [May 2002, p.83]
  3. ShelleyDevoto is obviously having a blast, and while Buzzkunst is no thundering masterpiece, the blast is not at listeners' expense.
  4. 60
This record is neat and all, but Buzzkunst doesn't add to the collective legacy of Shelley and Devoto. [June 2002, p.88]
