  1. Is it cheesy? Kind of. But sometimes your musical diet can use a little extra dairy.
  2. Calling the World might not be radically inventive, but its solid songcraft and playful shout-outs to rock history are a lot of fun.
  3. Tossing aside the overbearing Weezer influence from Rooney's debut, singer-songwriter-Hollywood kid Robert Schwartzman -brother of Jason, cousin of Nicolas Cage - adopts the "poor me" lyrical stance perfected by the likes of The Eagles and Toto on Calling The World.

The first will always be better but Calling the World is growing on me. Rooney is just...fantastic.

Many of these songs could get radio play, but are edgy enough that they won't sound like Coldplay or Train. this album is good... it's just the right length to leave you satisfied, but wanting a little bit more.
