  1. Carousel Waltz is an extremely personal album, sublimely disguised as a sweet bit of pop fluff.
  2. The intimacy is startling. The introspection is as charming as it is insightful.
  3. This is not an album bent on changing the way one listens to music, but the way one listens to their self.
  4. Carousel Waltz drives a pretty flat road, without the peaks and valleys of their previous work, but that suits the grounded emotions and realizations they're addressing, skirting the line between the unaffected and mundane.
  5. Sincerity is one of the hardest things to pull off in music, so it’s to Bouchard’s credit that he does so effectively.
  6. The majority of Carousel just plain sounds the same. It might as well be the same pace, might as well be in the same key, might as well be the same vocal melody over and over; it's a carousel if there’s ever been one.
  7. While the album is pleasant, it takes awhile to open up. And once opened up, it's nice, but hardly revolutionary.

very simple but poignant. something for someone looking for a more stripped down yet soft, intimate sound.
