  1. It may be that the only constant on Chemical Warfare IS Alchemist's beats, but that's enough to make it work--and like the futuristic battle it implies the album is filled with hits you'll never see coming.

His dark, gritty boom bap is back. Better than ever.
  3. Chemical Warfare keeps this capo's reputation in tact. Recommended for aspiring dons and more open-minded thugs.
  4. Chemical Warfare is a rap version of Speilberg's Minority Report; it draws upon a gritty underground past while embracing more modern craftsmanship, where new smooth edges are balanced by the felt-authenticity of its caliginous vision.
Score distribution:
  1. Positive: 3 out of 6

Pretty much terrible. The beats are OK, but that's not enough to rectify the completely garbage coming out of these rappers mouths. Pretty much terrible. The beats are OK, but that's not enough to rectify the completely garbage coming out of these rappers mouths. These days, if the wordplay isn't there, then it becomes obvious how ludicrously stale and contrived gangsta rap has become. And this is as obvious as it's ever been. Expand

He knows how to work around every drag and flaw of the rapper's with which he works. He has just enough variation that you really wouldn't notice the difference in the songs if you heard them at separate times on the radio. When he works with artists like Eminem, something seems to work, but with the lesser known, less talented rappers. This is a difficult album because it induces sheer boredom. Expand
