  • Summary: After the breakup of Olivia Tremor Control, Will Hart went on to form Circulatory System along with fellow musicians from that group as well as others, such as Jeff Magnum (Neutral Milk Hotel). This is their debut release.

  1. With its illusory, ethereal production, wistful melodies, and oft-funereal pace, this is one of those rare albums that can completely absorb you in such a way as to almost dissolve the world around you, and make you feel like you've been transported to another realm of existence within the course of 58 minutes.
  2. A completely out-of-control garage-folk-psych-pop record that is always in control and is neither garagey nor folky nor psychedelic nor pop.

Eerie, exotic and utterly enchanting. [Mar 2002, p.116]
  4. Mojo

A wealth of gorgeous melodies and hallucinogenic kitchen-sink orchestrations. [Dec 2001, p.98]
  5. Plays like a musical companion piece to Richard Linklater's film Waking Life.
  6. Uncut

The acid-daze reveries are rich in detail, thought the baleful undertow and samey melodies lose momentum over the 22 tracks. [Apr 2002, p.113]
  7. Ambivalent and unexceptional.

Never stuck with me. Hasn't Pink Floyd already done this? I'd rather listen to Neutral Milk Hotel every single time.
