    Climb Up is Apse at their most accessible, but it still reveals itself in layers--another singular album from a singular band.

    The result is intricately experimental in style and form but while there are some glorious successes, as a whole Climb Up feels blunted.

    It's enjoyable as easy-listening, but there's nothing about Climb Up that truly grips you. For that, APSE will have to exist in electro-rock mediocrity for the time being.
