Gorgeous and intimate, the 14 songs on her debut disc ache with romantic maturity and a smart, slow-jam sexiness that belies the fact that, at 22, Jones is hardly older than Britney.
  2. Her voice is supple and precise, her touch on piano lovely.
  3. A showcase for Jones' remarkable voice, the disc captures a singer whose rare instinct for interpretation always serves the song, rather than working against it.
  4. While the mood of this record stagnates after a few songs, it does give a strong indication of Jones' alluring talents.
  5. Her readings of the Hank Williams classic, "Cold Cold Heart" and Hoagy Carmichael's "The Nearness of You" alone are worth the price of the CD.
  6. Inevitably, it all starts to grow a little samey.
  7. There's a seductive quality to the simple yet sophisticated and intimate ambience Jones creates with this music.

Norah Jone's come away with me is definitly one of the best albums recorded in a long time. Her remarkably smoothe sultry voice Norah Jone's come away with me is definitly one of the best albums recorded in a long time. Her remarkably smoothe sultry voice accompanied by the beautiful tunes of the piano make a great match. It is good to get a break from the norm of modern-day rock and just hear some easy listening music, definitly a greatest hit and a new classic on my list. Expand

Safer than milk, i.e. TOO safe, no back-bone, no risks, virtually no excitement. She has a beautiful voice, but a fine instrument doesn't mean much when it's stuck playing Muzak. The first song is pleasant, but you may have trouble staying awake past the halfway point, unless you're the type who treats music like background noise, in which case this should do fine. There's nothing wrong with soft pop, but if this is supposed the 'best' that's out there, then the public's either too desperate or need to challenge themselves a wee bit more. Expand
