Consolers Of The Lonely - The Raconteurs
Consolers Of The Lonely Image
  • Summary: The Raconteurs surprised much of the music industry by announcing the release of its sophomore album a week before it was released.
Score distribution:
  1. Positive: 18 out of 26
  2. Negative: 0 out of 26
  1. Not content to merely shake up the music industry by releasing Consolers with only one week's advance notice, the Raconteurs have also had the nerve to drop a near-classic album.
  2. The result is neither refined nor especially modern, but it still evokes the thrill of playing hooky on a Friday afternoon.
  3. Great fun to record, no doubt, and probably great live, but an annoying conceit on record.

  1. I wasn't a big fan of the first album, So I was hesitant about this one. But I listened to it and I must say it's a pretty damn good album. Jack White has made yet another great album and All In All, Consolers Of The Lonely has some very great tracks. I recommend this album. B+ Expand

Hummm. I liked Broken Boy Soldiers a lot. It had some unique quality to it. This album, from what I've heard, just doesn't have it. I'm not much into White Stripes with the exception of a few songs, but I hear people saying Jack White is sounds more like himself in the White Stripes this time around than he did in the first Ranconteurs album. If so, that sux. The first Ranconteurs album was great. Expand

I found BBS cheesy but enjoyable. I find this one just cheesy. Really hokey blend of boring rock styles that get old before the riffs even end. Innovative songwriting almost completely thrown out the window in favor of a tossed salad of Americana rock I guess they are hoping will sound like something new. It doesn't. Expand
