Their punchy choruses and propulsive garage riffs are as addictive as those of 2006 sensations Arctic Monkeys. [16 Mar 2007, p.69]
  2. Costello Music crackles from top to bottom with nervous energy, confident songwriting, and hopeless confusion over girls, girls, girls.
  3. Right now, their bouncing glamorama feels like the most important album you could own.
  4. Most of Costello is like a madcap Glasgow pub crawl: It makes you elated in the moment and sorry when it's over.
  5. Fans might be better off putting "Flathead" on a homemade mix-tape than following the rest of Costello Music.

Full of borrowed ideas put together in a not unpleasant or unoriginal way, their sound is still too close to the myriad other wannabes trailing in The Libertines' and Razorlight's wake. [Oct 2006, p.119]
  7. The effect diminishes with each spin.

I hope I'm not alone in feeling like modern rock is a pretentious waste of time, overblown angsty crap that doesn't speak to me at all. Costello Music doesn't exactly speak to me either, but it understands that music doesn't have to - it just has to entertain you. Expand

One of the single worst albums you will ever hear. Glorified oom-pah music for morons.
