In one word. Dreamy. The mix of the almost Batman-esque 'dum dum' sound and the atmospheric drone with Tessa May's floating vocals make 'Submarines' the song on this wonderful album. And that's just the last song! A sublime album.

No particular melodies, images, or moods really stick out from the vast, dreamy atmosphere that washes over you while you're listening.
  2. Without striving to be as overtly melodramatic as some of her contemporaries, Murray harnesses that desperation which Portishead's Beth Gibbons manages to pull off so well but by containing and internalising it, manages to offer a refreshingly navel-gazing approach to the pysche of the modern lover.

Still Corners' debut is full of the deceptively simple and the intriguingly confusing without straying far from its cinematic sound.
