It may be occasionally unnerving, but there is pure balm to be found here, music to speak to even the most troubled of souls.

Uncomplicated, subtle but memorable songwriting that might well have been played and recorded in a bedroom studio on Holloway Road.

Creatures of an Hour is never less than pretty, and often a good deal more.

Despite the beautiful arrangements, it's hard to shake the notion that Still Corners, like a lot of new indie bands, haven't yet risen above the sum of their influences: movie music, Morricone, Slowdive, Broadcast, Nancy Sinatra.

In one word. Dreamy. The mix of the almost Batman-esque 'dum dum' sound and the atmospheric drone with Tessa May's floating vocals make 'Submarines' the song on this wonderful album. And that's just the last song! A sublime album. Collapse
