a really decent album. i was always a fan of blur and bought "happiness in magazines" by coxon. i was very impressed by that and got this masterpiece on the cheap as well. i rate it even higher than "happiness in magazines" and i cannot stop listening to it. 'too uptight' and 'a place for grief' in particular are beautiful songs.

He's very much the equal of Radiohead's Johnny Greenwood in terms of versatility and sheer invention. [Sep 2001, p.90]
  2. 70
Further evidence who believe Coxon is the most creatively restless member of Blur. [Aug 2001, p.98]
  3. However essential it was to make, it just doesn't feel essential enough to keep on hearing.
