Ranieri's voice is sexier than ever. His self-aware lyrics ("If I ever learnt to love myself I'd soon be out of work") are captivating. O'Shea's lead guitar is delightful. And it's short, so it plays like one giant rocking blast.

Cult doesn't rock the boat so much as reinforce it against any potential wear and tear, with Bayside never sounding so fired up. [8 Feb 2014, p.54]

Cult at times feels cut from the same cloth as 2007's Walking Wounded. [Mar 2014, p.87]
  3. Cult unleashes some of the band's tastiest riffs and strongest songs yet while broadening Bayside's musical palate.
