An ethereal but slightly disappointing album for the masses.

Despite its pointed title, Culture of Fear is not quite as politically minded as Thievery Corporation's previous studio album.

While all of that emotional corruption may still tear their home planet apart, this trip-hop intergalactic train has reached its slice of space jazz heaven.

Even at its most far-out, the songs on Culture Of Fear always seem to know where they're going, even if they choose to take the scenic route to get there.

In the end, Culture of Fear is a good album, but it doesn't push any boundaries or claim any new ground.

I have been a really huge fan of Thievery Corporation for a very long time and have loved everything they have done to this point but thisI have been a really huge fan of Thievery Corporation for a very long time and have loved everything they have done to this point but this just may be their best effort yet. This time around they have taken their signature sound up a notch with a smorgasbord of world sounds and some very scrumptious surprises. You will be so amazed with all of the guest tracks on this one with the likes of Mr. Lif, LouLou, Sleepy Wonder, Shana Halligan and so many more. Shana is by far the stand out here and has always been a favorite of mine from her days with Bitter:Sweet. If you know of her music your in for a real treat once again and if it's something new to you just save up your money because your going to want to but all of her music. I swear I have been listening to this all night and I'm in the best mood I have been in all darn day. I'm very happy that this album is finally out because we were in need of some really great music around here and I swear this one will not let you down. Full Review »
