Cyclops Reap may be the best place for newcomers to start, but anyone who's been along for the ride since the beginning will be thrilled to hear Presley's (slight) progression.
  2. Cyclops Reap keeps the party going.

These songs don't ever feel overstuffed. Everything is faithful to White Fence's well-established aesthetic, but simplified.

Prolific folks like Presley tend to forget the presentation of an album, and Cyclops Reap seems like a step in that direction: not just a collection of songs, but a collection of songs that work well together.

Unsurprisingly, the fuzz escapes through every pore, seeing Presley revving through erratic, lovely bedroom recordings.

His latest, Cyclops Reap, amplifies the warmth of his signature bedroom recording.

As Cyclops Reap shows, Presley still finds time to put a great deal of thought and effort into his solo project, producing tripped-out, acidic '60s jams.

While it is a shame that some of these ideas don’t feel more fully fleshed out, there are still plenty of moments that set characterise White Fence as some of the most interesting ’60s-tinged music being released.

Presley’s made a competent facsimile of a 60s psychedelic album.

It might not reinvent the formula much, but it does refine and sharpen--in its best moments anyway--the nostalgic hiss-pop Presley thrives in.

As it is, Cyclop Reaps has the aura of automatic writing, a stream of unfiltered imagery that is, intermittently, quite arresting, but as a whole shapeless and hard to navigate.
