  1. For the most part, Ms. Knowles does more reinventing than revisiting.
  2. The best evidence of Ms. B's growth as an artist (and woman) is seen in the ballads and mid-tempo tracks.

Her reach is remarkable. [Aug 2003, p.120]

At times... Dangerously In Love sounds desperate to reach every demographic. [Aug 2003, p.150]
  5. She has good songs, but no great songs. [Aug 2003, p.105]
  6. Unfortunately, the rest of Dangerously in Love is only intermittently sexy.
  7. Beyoncé never met a ballad she didn't like. Out of Dangerously in Love's 14 tracks, a staggering eight are the kind of overwrought, no-tempo love songs even Toni Braxton has the sense to avoid.

Dangerously in Love is the album that showed the world that she doesn't need Kelly and Michelle. She proved with Dangerously in Love that she can release timeless songs (Crazy in Love and Baby Boy). And the 5 Grammys she won for the album are just another proof that the album is flaw-free. This album is a favorite ! Beyonce has amazing vocals, beats, videos, and choreograpy that sets her work apart from anyone else! Beyonce is the modern Janet Jackson and she is dominating for good reason. If you do not like/love this album then you dont know how to identify good music. She goes from sexy to rage to fun in a heartbeat, its so diverse! Buy this album seriously if you havent already! No artist is touching this woman! Expand

This album was very eccentric. It was both R&B and pop, and hip-hop. It seems as if Beyonce was just recording every song that sounded good to her, hoping that it would sound good to others as well (which it does), but it left out the honesty that should be found in music especially with vocal talent like hers. At moments like "Me, Myself, and I" and "Daddy" you can literally fell what she feels, and at other points like "Hip Hop Star" you wonder what she is doing. Overall it was a strong debut release, it show promise for who Beyonce will become as an artist, vocalist, and overall as a human being. Expand

None of beyonces albums have much depth to them but this one seems to be the most complete. Hits like "Baby Boy" "Naughty Girl" and "Crazy In Love" make a solid opening to the mediocre rest of the album. Overall not bad but still teases us into more as Beyonce often does with her albums. Best she has to offer in her discography. Expand

"Dangerously In Love" is Beyonce's debut album. Although it isn't her best work to date, there are some amazing songs like sensual "Baby Boy" and "Naughty Girl", beautiful "Me, Myself And I" and "Dangerously In Love 2", and of course "CRAZY IN LOVE" which absolutely slays songs like idiotic Jay Z duet "That's How You Like It", boring "Hip Hop Star" and irritating, funky song called "Work It Out". The other tracks are sentimental milquetoast ballads like "Yes", "Sings" and "Gift From Virgo" and moody R&B "The Closer I Get To You" and another me-and-my-future-husband duet "03' Bonnie & Clyde". "Dangerously In Love" is Beyonce's most casual album. It isn't as fun as "B'Day", as vulnerable as "I Am... Sasha Fierce" and as breathtaking as "4". But having "Crazy In Love", "Naughty Girl" and "Baby Boy" one album is an automatic win!

This here can be considered an album? too bad, the only merit of this cd is the song ''Crazy In Love'' which became a huge hit for ''pocs'' in Complexo do Alemão. Expand
