Score distribution:
  1. Positive: 5 out of 7
  2. Negative: 0 out of 7
  1. The silky-voiced folk-popster successfully rocks up his sound on his fourth album, adding a polite but firm electric edge. [20 Sep 2002, p.106]
  2. Every song sparkles with a hook or lyrical element strong enough to permanently embed the brain upon impact.
  3. 80
Sheik's sparklingly clear voice and subtly tricky guitar shifts transcend the pop-rock melodies. [#10, p.126]
  4. 60
Sheik... seems uncomfortable with the slicker presentation.

As with any Duncan Sheik effort, to really appreciate the record, patience is of the essence.

After the dismal "Phantom Moon," Sheik bounces back with a solid set of catchy (the second or third time around) rockers and appropriate ballads. Though not as affecting and immediate as his first two discs, this is a welcome return to form. Expand
