Real Estate have such a knack for classic-sounding melody that every song quickly engages on a musical gut level.

Real Estate set itself up to falter by comparison, but Days pulls off the impressive feat of earning that company [of Beach Boys' Today, the Byrds' Notorious Byrd Brothers, and The Shins' Oh, Inverted World].

Drifting along on surf-garage guitars and lazy daydream harmonies. [28 Oct 2011, p.73]

It feels both classic and surprisingly new; this is Real Estate, and this is all Real Estate will ever be.

The intelligent songcraft on Days is remarkably strong and with enough luster to continue, here's to hoping the desire never runs dry for Real Estate.
  6. This is a great pop-rock album because it doesn't feel the need to be anything else.

  1. I had mixed feelings about Real Estate's debut, I thought it was merely alright. So, I had lowered expectations for "Days" and I think that was a blessing because this album has slowly grown on me. I love how the guitars sound on this album. "Out of Tune" is the highlight here, but nearly every song is a winner. The record has a late 80's college rock vibe and reminds me a lot of the Go-Betweens. Good stuff! Full Review »
  2. Pretty, delicate, melancholic, with the right amount of aching and hope, and beautiful guitars throughout in each song this is an accomplished little album. Full Review »
  3. Goes down smooth like a milk shake on the deck one breezy summer day. It can be a bit boring for some, but just sit back and enjoy it for a while. You wont regret it. Full Review »
