It's had to imagine how long Ha Ha Tonka can continue to grow on each album, considering how good they've become, but if you're looking for music that's smart, ambitious, literate, and fun at the same time, Death of a Decade could well be your introduction to your new favorite band.

Death of a Decade feels like a trilogy-ender for Ha Ha Tonka's discography-to-date, and a triumphant one, to be sure.

Unfortunately, this formula grows tired by the end of the album and paired alongside questionable tempo decisions, Death of a Decade ultimately loses too much steam for redemption.
  5. Apr 26, 2011
It's a fine album that often lapses into anonymity, that never quite rocks as hard and as consistently as it should.

On Death of a Decade, Ha Ha Tonka takes the harmonies and anthemic melodies one step further.
