This is brave, beautiful music that can appeal to just about everybody with either a working brain or an ass to shake. If you have both, this should be your next new obsession.

Everything here, though, feels strangely organic and effortlessly joyful.

The band acquits itself amazingly well, mixing in a few originals with a well-chosen selection of Golden Age songs, folk tunes, and Azmari troubadour songs.

The band is beyond tight, and not only does singer Bruck Tesfaye possess the requisite mellifluous diction, he has an impassioned delivery that reaches effortlessly across language barriers to collar anyone ready for a good time and haul them willingly onto the dance floor. [No.90, p.58]

It captures the band's rambunctious, not-especially-reverent approach to Ethio-jazz.

An enticing invitation to the group's live performance, sure, but often no more.
