A grand, spectacular treat to the ears but seems to rely heavily on hooks. To their credit though, Daft Punk are really, really good at creating hooks.

One of the greatest dance albums of all time, an absolute classic. Fans of house and dance music will enjoy it, as will fans of pop. It's also one of the greatest feel good albums, alongside "since I left you" by The Avalanches. As perfect an album as possible. It's that good.

Very stellar album. Personal favourites are Something About Us, Crescendolls, Nightvision, and Digital Love. There are some weak points ( Idk why everyone says Too Long is amazing, I thought it wasn't that good.) but it's overall really good.

easily their best album to date. nothing they've done so far has managed to top this album in any way.
i love each and every single one of these tracks, and the fact that they seg way into one another working as a movie soundtrack (which it is), only makes it better.

I started listening Daft punk in 2009. One day i was watching a video of 2007 live on youtube and they were playing one more time/aerodynamic mix. That was the moment, i got hit by their song Aerodynamic and i started composing music and learning. It doesn't matters to me what other people thinks about them, but they have changed me.

Daft Punks Discovery is one of the only albums I have ever heard that I can listen to every song and appreciate how great ever single track is. By far one of my favorite albums of all time.

The best album of the duo by far, doesn't have one single bad song. I wish they have made another album similar to this one instead of that electronic mess that is Human After All.

This album is where I started listening to Daft Punk. Daft Punk are really talented EDM duos who changed the EDM's generation forever. Some songs are ish. But songs like "One More Time", "Harder Better Faster Stronger", "Digital Love" and "Superheroes are the best ones out of this album. So yeah, really good album.

Personally I really like the album. Starting from spotify, continues on vinyl, it is just a very good album to listen to. Most of the songs are used in Interstellar 5555, movie. I would always suggest this album to anyone.

My favorite album from daft punk
"One More Time" is repetitive (it say one more time 26 times) yet it still manages to get stuck in my head

"Harder Faster Better Stronger" it's Harder Faster Better Stronger need i say more?
"Crescendolls" actually sounds like a house track instead of 80s pop music
"Night Vision" is just filler yet it is very intriguing and is something I'd sleep to

Of Daft Punk's two early dance albums (The other being Homework), this one comes off as superior and better defines their style.

Discovery is a masterpiece, 100% good production, cohesive album with good tracks and storyline, 'One More Time' is now a classic, 'Harder Better Faster Stronger' 'Digital Love' do their job too. Showing deepest feeling with 'Something About Us' every single thing on this album has it's soul, that's just magic.

Discovery is a lively, original, varied, fun, and catchy electronic album. It's surprisingly fun for an album made so long ago; it has aged very, very well. Seventeen years later, Discovery sounds great. The electronic music is really fun, and rarely misses a beat. It doesn't sound like any other electronic music, except for other Daft Punk music, I guess. "One More Time" is electrifying,Discovery is a lively, original, varied, fun, and catchy electronic album. The following song is almost as fantastic, with great, high-energy electronic music. "Love" and "Harder" work very well in their own ways. I'm not a big fan of the vocals in the songs "Superheroes" and "Too Long," but the songs still don't sound all that bad. "Us" has fascinating, wholly original music that really stands out.

Discovery is not a flawless record, but the majority of the album is filled with ageless, electrifying, organic electronic music and sounds great. It's an 8.5.

Irreplaceable classic, genre defining record ! Daft Punk set the tone for the upcoming House music with this record. One More Time is deeply embedded into Dance Music culture, it's still playing nearly a couple of decades later !

Finding words to describle the place occupied by this album in my growth process and in my heart is harder than counting stars in the sky. This album sums up everything Daft Punk is amazing at: chill songs ('Veridis Quo'), poetic ones ('Something About Us'), electric and catchy ones ('Face to Face') and the ones based on amazing crecendos ('Too Long'). The atmosphere is perfect thanks to a stellar top notch production. It is stunning to hear all the influencies the duo manages to fuse together. I would need a week to name all the music genres intrigued in here. To name a few I found some R&B, Rock, Disco, pure Electro and Pop influences all along. The balance bewteen instrumental tracks and sung ones is great. It is soft, it is raw, so energetic and surprising, it goes directly to the heart and head. And it is in my DNA. Forever.

Unmatched. This is what got me into, well, whatever you call this as a genre. It is incredibly entertaining, so much fun, with bangers like One More Time, Aerodynamics and HBFS. The album sometimes drops the tempo with Nightvision and Something About Us is just heartfelt, touching. Veridis Quo is just plain genius. This album has everything, it is pure and peak Daft Punk.

Discovery is a love letter to dance music. It is an amalgamation of different funk tracks of the last century, and it works super well. This album proves that music is all about doing something new, it doesn't have to be purely original (though don't just be like Robot Rock and loop the same thing for 3 minutes.) 10/10

The tradional Daft Punk classic. It has very memorable tunes that rocked the early 2000's in a glorius way. It also features "Digital Love", which is my favorite song ever, just a beautiful piece of music.

This is one of the best albums of the 2000s, the best you get with French house, and, is in my opinion, the best Daft Punk album ever. Daft Punk was a great band its entire lifetime, and I think that, considering 2001 was a big year in music, this helped Daft Punk bounce from a one hit wonder to a global phenomenon. I remember when I first heard this album. I was 7. The year was 2007. I was a Greek immigrant who had just moved to Vancouver. While I was studying for a test, the radio was playing. A few minutes after I began the studying, One More Time started up. I was like, “what is this band?”. So I looked it up, and found out they were called Daft Punk! So when I was 14, I decided to get all the Daft Punk albums on vinyl. And it was great! And now, French house is my second favourite genre! Thank you, Daft Punk, for improving my music taste. Expand

It's almost a perfect album. It has so many great songs, from the radio friendly "One more Time" to the slow "Veridis Quo". Every song on here shines through. The only critisism I have is that "Nightvision" is almost nothing, if this wasn't on this classic album, we wouldn't have praised this track so much, because it's, as i said, a bag of nothingness. And maybe the song "Too long" is a bit too long, but in some way the keep it fresh and don't make it repetitive which is impressive for a song that's 10 minutes of the same thing, not a Tyler the creator kind of 2 part track. The first for songs "One more time, Aerodynamic, digital love and harder, better, faster, stronger" are just straight bangers to play everywhere. Also an honorable mention is the use of the sample by kanye west of "harder, better, faster, stronger", he turned this song into something fresh and new and I recommend it. Crescendolls is like a funny, jumpy and kinda weird song, but somehow, in some strange french way, it just works. Superheroes and high life are also great, but then you come to the song "Something about us" which is in my opinion the best produced Daft Punk song ever. The intro is so soft and great with the "waw waw waw, wew wew wew". The lyrics are fun while also interesting to listen to. But I'm not going to spoil that for you, you should listen to it for yourself. After this there are some deep cuts, like voyager and short circuit, which you can easily vibe to in your room, but are not really something special though never the less, fantastic. Then Face To Face is the best daft punk ever made and is my favourite, maybe not the best produced, but just my favourite one of all time. Everything about it, the drum at the beginning + the sampling goes so well together on this track. The singing is also *chef kisses*. And then we end with "too long" which is just a cool a chill closer to the album.

Really the best EDM and house album of the 2000's.

Fav tracks: Digital love, face to face, veridis quo, something about us
Least fav track: Too long, Nightvision

Ahhh, Discovery. The album that got all the people grooving to this day. One More Time, Harder Better Faster Stronger, those are only some of the bangers from Daft Punk. This is their perfect album, even betterthan Random Acces Memories. The first songs are all fun, and just feel upbeat. Middle is more sad, and somber. Then with a sweet ending for what the 14 songs you have listened to.

If I was reviewing the first four songs this album would be a ten. "One More Time", "Digital Love", & "Harder Better Faster Stronger" are amazing songs. Unfortunately the rest of the album drags on. With only a few songs catching my ear. I was excited to listen to this album but was let down.

Daft Punk are such stellar, meticulous producers that they make any sound work, even superficially dated ones like spastic early-'80s electro/R&B ("Short Circuit") or faux-orchestral synthesizer baroque ("Veridis Quo").
  2. 70
Matching Homework in quirkiness, buoyancy, and club-ready freak-beats, Discovery combines the best of what Daft Punk has to offer: mid-'80s synth-pop ("Digital Love"), sleazy euro-funk ("Harder Better Faster Stronger"), shake-your-booty electro-metal with spacey guitar effects ("Aerodynamic" -- Basement Jaxx meets Eddie Van Halen), and minimal, big-beat tunes that Underworld wishes it would have thought of first ("Superheroes").
  3. Not enough of this album delivers on the promise of [lead single] "One More Time."
