On their Dogs Eating Dogs EP, blink-182 return as a deeper, more mature-sounding band.

Dogs Eating Dogs is a strong effort.
  3. 30
DeLonge's forgettable chord progressions feel like an afterthought to lyrics that try too hard to fit into Blink's more morbid adult persona of late.
  4. While the EP isn't the best material of the band's career, it shows a promising future that looked ever so bleak just a mere three years ago.

The overall effect is one of a versatile, diffuse, but somehow far more focused collection of songs than were present in Neighborhoods. [22 Dec 2012, p.68]

Wow, this album really shows how Blink 182 does what they have always done well, adapting to the future and creating new, different music to shape the genre.

They experimented with new sounds and strayed away from the purely synthetic vibe that Neighborhoods gave. Not only that, but the band recording together really shows through with the melodic movements and changes in tempo.

I couldn't give this EP series less then a 10, even if the ultimatum was a gorilla tearing my nipples off.

Dogs Eating Dogs keeps more or less the sound of Blink-182's latest full lenght album Neighborhoods, but I think there's something better in this EP. Dogs Eating Dogs and Boxing Day are excellent songs, while the other three songs aren't on the same level. I hope there will be a further improvement in the next album. Full Review »
