A very good Album. The best Foo Fighter Album so far. It's no bad song on this Album.

I'm not a major Foo Fighters fan - appreciate some of their best tracks but overall wouldn't be a favourite of mine, however this is a really good album. Probably the bands most consistent from start to finish.

I've always liked foo fighters, and i pretty much always will. keep it up.

A sort of departure for the Foo. A little softer, but still great.

This is big, open-hearted hard rock with a couple of slower tracks. The songs are actually pretty good this time around, and I really like Gil Norton's production - much better than the last 3 records in my opinion. By now we know what Foo Fighters sound like so I don't understand the backlash here.

It's irregular, but still a great rock album. "The Pretender" is energetic and exciting, "Let it Die" is dramatic and vibrating and this goes on to the sixth track. The album could end there.

I really enjoyed the last album, In Your Honor. i found both discs to be enjoyable listens. it was a great return after One By One, which was not very good. i like the new disc. it's a bit different, sort of a merge of the two disc deal from the last album. love Come Alive, The Pretender, & Long Road to Ruin.

This album like most of the FF albums since the colour and the shape have the same sound sameness which means boring even though dave grohl is getting more screams in it still puts me to sleep another rubbish album have to stop buying them now.

Overall, very satisfying album. Some really great songs. Favorite of mine is "Let It Die." Classic Foos.

Mediocre album; even worse than In Your Honor.

Decidedly average. If it wasn't Dave Grohl singing and the Foo Fighters playing, you wouldn't listen to half the tracks on this derivative and disappointing album. Looks like they'll never best The Colour And The Shape...

Wow, everyone on here constantly chooses extremes. The album is leagues ahead of "In Your Honor" however Leagues behind "one by one" However, I, unlike every other foo fighters fan on here, am not a purist. I am willing to listen to "change" as the others aren't apparantly. Am I the only 1 who finds it sickening the whole "sell out" thing. Come on, they are trying to something different, and you should be happy and proud that a band you like are trying to expand their musical range other then putting out the same album out time and time again. See thats what you guys want, another one by one, I want something different, and thats what I got.… Expand

This album is brilliant. There isn't a single bad foo fighters album yet. Let It Die is probably the best song here, or Stranger Things Have Happened. To compare this album to Nickelback is a disgrace, whoever it was that said that.

Another good album by the Foo Fighters, but this is just more of the same. Granted, it's a bit more intellectual and artistic but Dave Grohl has been doing the same thing for years.

Great album, they just keep getting better and better. Id write more but Im feed up with people that write reviews and don't even take the time to listen to an album and analyze it. Foos rock. Everysong on this album is worth listening too. how many bands can do that?

Epic! Amazing return to form after the disappointing "In Your Honor."

I've been disappointed by the 2 previous Foo albums, as One by One had too much unfinished songs, and In Your Honor maybe too far reaching for the basic rocker that I am ! But I'm still a Foo Fighters fan right from the first album, so I was waiting eagerly for this new one. I must say that I had difficulties getting on with "The Pretender", but, like many people apparently, it grew on me. And the rest followed. It followed not only because I'm a fan, but because it all sounds new ( Grohl's songwriting talent evolves from album to album ), which makes it interesting to listen to. I like them all except Long Road to Ruin ( a bit too mellow ) and The Ballad of the Beaconsfield Miners, a bit pointless... Thumbs up for Let It Die, Come Alive and Stranger Things Have Happened. Of course, as many fans of early Foo I'd have loved more punk and less rock, but "Echoes..." will do easily after their 2 previous mellow CDs...… Expand

I really like this album. It's a hell of a lot better then In Your Honor (with the exception of the acoustic disc it felt like they were trying to hard). To those who criticize this album because it sounds like a typical rock record, I say that while this doesn't really push rock into new territory it is by no means average. I don't believe that there is a weak track in the whole mix. When I first listened to this album I literally said to myself that "this is rock and roll" It doesn't rely on gimmicks. Its doesn't emulate some genre of music that is already dead and gone. It just shows that rock can kick you in the nuts, that it can be beautiful, that it can also be something to listen to while relaxing with a cold beer. I don't believe that the Foo Fighters were ever trying to recreate rock and roll with their music, only trying to put out songs that people can enjoy. And with this album they definately do this.… Expand

Echoes...is not the album I was expecting for. It's not that revolutionar, but it was close. Some tracks are killer, but some are more like filler. Some would have been better if they were about 3 minutes max. songs not 4 or 5. 7.5/10

The magic is gone. It's not that they need to sound like their first couple of albums, it's that they need the variety and creativity back. People who like this stuff probably own Nickelback cds too. Wake up all you 10-raters out there! It's generic!!

A bunch of great songs, and a few ok ones. Not their best album overall, but still much better than most of the garbage that is out there today.

this album is a different side of the foo fighters, "Stranger Things Have Happened" reminds me so much of the simplistic sound Nirvana had in songs like "Polly" and "Come as you Where"

The first 3 and last 3 tracks are memorable, but I'm not sure if that's an evolution in the Foos' sound or just the serial positioning effect. Regardless, Dave Grohl has become surprisingly versatile and has impressed this casual Foos fan.

What happened to Dave Grohls great voice, the smokes oviously got to it. Y'know Dave Grohl is really talented. He's a great songwriter, guitarist and drummer and singer but the last few albums are just pathetic, and partly I blame the people who mixed the last few albums, they're so bland and why Dave chooses to reduce his artisicness for such a dull band and driveling producers is beyond me. You can do better than this Dave!!! Save your career please!!! You used to be one fo my heroes. Or perhaps if this record had come out in 2005, I would never have heard "In Your Honour" and I would'nt be sitting here moaning. Sorry for being honest you 10 starrer's. Who are all these people giving this album a "0"? Is this the Foo Fighters best album? Of course not, that would have to be either TCATS or TINLTL. But this is better than both One by One and In Your Honor. So, ok, according to you this band is dead. Oh, wait, some of you think One by One is better... it is not. Beyond the first 4 tracks that's the worst album the Foos have released. Excellent album for all Foo fans. Stretches all the way back to remind us of The Colour & The Shape and shows us what they have for their potential in the future. Awesome rock album

When I read the Entertainment Weekly review, I was reminded of a quote from Garden State; "Kick it in the balls". You see, this is what you do to a dog when it keeps humping your leg. The Foo Fighters could use this advice to get EW off their leg. Of course, then their only die hard supporters would be gone. Seriously, though, does anyone take these guys seriously any more? We thought this kind of rock was good in the 90s, then we realized that in reality it was the blandest nonsense since New Coke. And now these guys are trying to make music exactly the same as their 90s stuff. It boggles my mind. And if your still think that EW is right and everyone else is wrong, these guys are also strong supporters of Nickleback. Yeah...… Expand

Those people who give it a 0 and say Foo is dead or sucks or something...give me a reason why this album isn't worthwhile, just just your dumbass dribbling because you don't appreciate this style of rock or their talent. See them live and tell me it wasn't a good show, or sod off!

I think this may be the Foo's best album yet...in fact if they quit now they'd be riding off into the sunset at the top of their game. I honestly don't think that they will be able to top this one! It's the perfect mix of loud rocking numbers with some quieter moments sprinkled in here and there so as not to wear out your eardrums. Best album I've heard in a couple years, and light years ahead of their last outing.… Expand

Foo Fighters were great on their first three albums. Now they're just good. But good is pretty darn good. So few bands (now or ever) know how to write a complete song or how to rock out without sacrificing melody. The Foo Fighters can still do this. In terms of the latter half of the Foo Fighters' career, this is the best - significantly better than In Your Honor, which was a dud with a few standout tracks.… Expand

Foo Fighters have trusted themselves into our lives again with maturity and emotion than their previous album 'In Your honor'. I loved their last album, but I feel that since 'Skin and Bones', that his music is more true and heart felt. Foo Fighters prove that they are not just another rock band, but they have substance, character and emotion. I just don't understand the backlash, everyone is titled to their opinion, but I feel the backlash is harsh.… Expand

As Ghrol recently said in a radio interview, he's not the same person/writer he was 12 years ago. Expecting to hear the same sound of the Foo's early days is foolish. The band has evolved, and a sound of maturity is definitely shown here. 'Home' is probably one of the most defining elements of this. Here, there is a more conscious effort to blend mellow with full out rock. There may not be as many break out singles as other albums, but evolution has never sounded so good.… Expand

Except for the awesome 'Let It Die' this is a very bad release, even the first single (pretender) is anything but memorable...weak ballads, American FM-rock cliche's, I wasted my 15 bucks on this... n,o energy, no creative songwriting to be found here... let's hope there next album will reach the same heights again as One By One

Not impressed, could be even worse than "In Your Honour" I can't believe that such great bands go down hill so quickly, this is a joke.

Very good accoustic songs on this album, but the heavier songs i believe to be not as good as previous heavy foo songs, all except the pretender, Overall its a good listen! Come Alive is my favourite song.

Hey all you 0 raters out there!! Just cause people rate it 10, you can bash them but you turn around and give it a zero? Obviously the cd is not a 10 and obviously its not a 0. I enjoyed the cd, and I thought that while the Foos were not pushing boundries, that doesn't mean its a bad album. ACDC never pushed a boundry in their lives and they're gods. Alright, they pushed a few, but they stayed in their niche. Love Let It Die, of course The Pretender will be hated because its "radio" music, whatever. All you indie people think just cause its popular now its not good anymore. When it wasn't so popular it was great!!! Of course it can't top The Colour and The Shape, I don't think any of their albums ever will it was so good.… Expand

This is a good album.Anyone that has followed the Foo will appreciate the growth in the music and Daves' lyrics have always been real.

I think it is probably their best to date. It seems better put together and all their songs except the music only song are nice to listen to.

C'mon people it's not that bad. Ther's at least 4 or 5 belters on the record. "Let it Die", Cheer up Boys", and "But Honestly" see the Foos doing their trademark heavy but catchy pop rock thing to perfection and "Summers End" and "Statues" rate among their best ballards. However, you can't get away from the fact that the Foos have done all this much better before on their debut and especially The Colour and the Shape and are starting to sound a bit limited and samey. Not a bad album, but poor by the Foo's standards. I love 'stranger things have happened', its so moody.

It all sound nearly flawless making it an excellent Foo Fighters album, if not the best they've done with a few, slightly shaky tracks spoiling it. Well worth the money.

Not the Foo's best, but pretty damn good nonetheless. It's definitely one of those albums that grows on you. Best songs on the album IMO are: 1. The Pretender 2. Long Road To Ruin 3. Stranger Things Have Happened 4. Summer's End.

Foo Fighters did their worst album to date.

Their best album since There Is Nothing Left To Lose. Foo Fighters certainly don't deserve heaps of praise. But the fact of the matter is that they don't deserve to be panned brutally either. They're a solid band. Quite a bit unchanging, of course, but this album definitely gives hope. Compare them to Nickelback or other modern rock bands all you want, but it seems like the Foos have learned something from the attention they got for their softer stuff. They've taken it into account when it comes to their overall sound. And that's good, because Grohl can't make rock like he used to, his softer sensibilities are where he's best. And if acoustic instruments and softer arrangements continue to creep into the Foo Fighters sound, then we'll have a pretty damn good band on our hands again.… Expand

This album sounds like the natural next step at Foos career. A perfect mixing of heavy and acoustic songs. The tune "Erase/Replace" is quite sharp and "Statues" is one of their most remarkable acoustic songs.

Seriously sick of Dave Grohl. The whole act has become stale, especially with all the seriousness of becoming 'real' musicians. Dave, you should have finished foo's at album 3 and then you could have only wrecked your solo career with this pretentious/trite slop. YES, I don't care about the miners down the well. We have heard enough about them. SO STOP writing instrumentals dedicated to them. Listening to this music is liked being locked in a small room with nothing but monkey wrench playing for a week. Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace is not the best album ever, but it's not bad either. A good handful of songs in this album. Opens up with the rock anthem "The Pretender" that is easily Foo Fighters heaviest song. Dave Grohl's vocals sound more matured in this album also. All In All, Each song is good, not great, and certainly not bad either. B

I want to like the Foo Fighters cos when they write a good song, I am right into it, and when they play live, I am right there with them, but for some reasonthere seems a whole lot of filler here that really could have been culled, but I guess that can be said for the majoriy of the Foos releases.

By far the most enjoyable and mature album in the Foo Fighter's canon, "Echoes Silence Patience & Grace" has some of the catchiest and rocking songs in "the Pretender" or "Erase/Replace." This is the most complete album by the Foos, and each song seems carefully placed in the album for a reason. "Home" may be the best song Dave Grohl has ever written. Simply put, if you don't enjoy this album, you won't enjoy much else by the Foo Fighters, and you'd be hard pressed to call yourself a fan.… Expand

It doesn't all come together, but it's high points are some of Foo Fighter's most inventive songs to date.

This has become one of my favourate albums, especially songs like: "Stranger things have happened" and "Home". Though Im not really pleased with songs like "the Pretender" and "Summers end" because theyre too commercial.
