Not exactly life-changing, Ego War certainly isn't awful but it isn't much to listen to either. Chronically uncreative lyrics and an overreaching musical palate drag what otherwise would be quite the fun ride down. Not much to recommend, but it certainly isn't terrible.

The Audio Bullys really show off on this record, good lyrics, fine beats and cool tunes. Sometimes they put too much together but overal Ego War is a great album!

The best part of this album isn't even on the album. The Switch remix kills!

  1. Over 13 tracks, not one a filler, they mix everything from punk to electro, house and disco, and end up like a delirious collision of the Specials and Basement Jaxx.
  2. The mix never really jells. [13 Jun 2003, p.96]
  3. Busting out of car speakers on hot London streets this summer, 'Ego War' is gonna make you think that, finally, we've got a Brit band worth adoring.
