  • Summary: The fourth album from the Denver indie-pop band led by Tammy Ealom is a sugary 12-song set.
Score distribution:
  1. Positive: 10 out of 17

Guitarist John Hill... generates enough raw power to mask the shortcomings of any old lead vocalist. Fortunately for this Denver foursome, it has one of the most exciting singers around today. [#68, p.91]
  2. Under The Radar

Another disc of rocking power-pop hits. [#10, p.110]
  3. While there's a definite sense of in-studio spontaneity to Electrified, the album's only significant flaw is that the songs sound restrained in their current form.
  4. On the whole Electrified offers too much syrup.

Electrified certainly isn't the most original album you'll hear this year, but crunchy pop like this doesn't have to work very hard to impress the indie set. [Jul 2005, p.176]
  6. Blender

Happily, [their] dogged consistency works in their favor. [Jul 2005, p.117]
  7. The album as a whole isn't interesting enough lyrically or musically to hold itself together.

Wow, I really don't understand why they're not huge. The album is great and they put on an amazing live show.

You keep waiting for that gorgeous pop song they've always been able to show on previous albums
