Though Elephunk provides some pretty good tunes it falls in and out of meaning for example "Where Is The Love" provides us with a plesant meaning while "My Humps" is about Fergie humps. I find it really hard like something like that.

A good album with a strong sense of self with nothing more than very raw sound that still stays within the Hip Hop genre. Not as good as Behind The Front, nothing special. It's alright, nothing more. Features some good songs, and many weak ones. Easily their worst album yet.

  1. The snags occur with the group's efforts at grit and substance.

The crew's 1982-ish rhyme schemes and vapid lyrics reach new lows. [Oct 2003, p.85]
  3. Elephunk may not blow up, but it does go pop with enough style and verve to make its lack of substance irrelevant.
