While the Summer Set shed some of their emo-pop roots for Everything's Fine, the growth as songwriters and performers as well as potential for wider recognition shown on their sophomore effort is a worthy exchange.

Everything's Fine is far from perfect, and upon its first few listens may prove a disappointment for fans expecting more of the same, or even an expansion on, the spunky sounds of Love Like This.

With Everything's Fine, The Summer Set offer enough of a glimpse to prove that they have just enough staying power to stick around.

The group still employ the boy-loves-girl lyrical motif--but the way they've expanded their sonic palette to include more than typical Warped Tour fluff is both admirable and a bit risky. [Aug 2011, p.122]

Sure, the album is a commendable attempt at maturity which suggests that the five-piece are unlikely to take their careers for granted. Unfortunately, Everything's Fine is another example of a band attempting to grow up far too fast, and coming unstuck because of it.
