    While longtime JLS fans may be satisfied with Evolution, those looking for either a smart reappropriation of sounds from the past or a daring creative leap forward will find themselves at a disappointing dead end.

    As an exercise in not-so-subtle re-positioning the album is never less than effective and its high-points are more interesting and persuasive than most of JLS' peers.

    It's full of taut, sophisticated pop that nods to Justin Timberlake circa 2002, Timbaland circa 1999 and even some of Nicki Minaj's more experimental beats.

    They've certainly lost much of their vocal character to the dreaded auto-tune, without gaining much by recompense.

    This is actually a pretty good album. I love tracks like All The Way & Bring Me Life. They are what JLS are about... However, there are alsoThis is actually a pretty good album.
