    While it might have been nice for the band to settle on one distinct style, Exits & All the Rest is a rocking, gritty, and yet uplifting and poppy, affair that is well worth hunting down for those lamenting the long lost sound of a woman named Polly Jean.

    Despite these interesting diversions, Exits & All the Rest is just a bit too straightforward to gain the plaudits of the more experimental Warpaint, but it's still a vibrant record that cleverly recaptures the spirit of their influences while remaining quintessentially Girl in a Coma.

    I was a little concerned that I wouldn't warm up to the album after hearing a couple of the songs they've been playing live, but I'm extremelyI was a little concerned that I wouldn't warm up to the album after hearing a couple of the songs they've been playing live, but I'm extremely pleased with the finished product. It's not as immediately accessible and "straight-ahead" as their first two studio albums, but the band has come a long way musically, and the complexity of their new sound has really grown on me.
