    Amazing.....the Led Zeppelin of the female world...Goddesses for sure. I have always based my vocals and musical creations after these fine ladies. If it wasn't for them....I might have ended up singing country or something god awful like that. Hail to Heart! Classy, talented ladies of pure rock and roll.

Ann Wilson's voice is still a force of nature, sounding stronger and more alive than on Red Velvet Car. Musically the album is mostly hard, uptempo material with a few slow songs place along the way as palette cleansers. The tracks "Fanatic", "Dear Old America", "Million Miles", and "Mashalla" are loaded with sonic guitar work and fit alongside Heart's extensive catalog of hard rock classics. The Wilsons' folky side is still present however, and shines on the Nancy-sung "Walkin' Good" and the dark "Corduroy Road". All in all, Fanatic offers the deepest and hardest Heart material in 30 years while totally eschewing the hair metal sound that engulfed all those top selling albums in the 80s and 90s. Heart still offers it's share of metal chords, but with nary a hint of big hair, stilettos, or pop. Great work from the Wilsons.… Expand

    There are a few too many of these mellower numbers to make this a true return to form, but on its high points, Fanatic shows a remarkable energy from a band that could've just coasted into soft-rock oblivion.
