  1. Breathlessly giddy and shamelessly trippy. [21 Oct 2005, p.75]
  2. 91
AC are all about the sometimes blissful, often uncanny intermingling of song and space. [Nov 2005, p.98]
  3. Feels is a near-stunning album a notable amount of the time.
  4. Animal Collective have made the album I hoped they’d make, and even that it’s autumn and summer’s over.
  5. Feels is an excellent record, one that, despite a more conventional approach, happens to get better over time.
  6. 90
To call these songs ambitious would be an understatement. [Oct 2005, p.76]
  7. Feels is a psychedelic wonderland filled with life-affirming warmth.
  8. 90
Feels is layered as no other Collective album before it. [#70, p.87]
  9. This is a wonderful album -- and a significant advance over the excellent Sung Tongs.
  10. A carefully sequenced, fully imagined album--one that's designed to be consumed by people wearing headphones and staring into space.
  11. A glorious, noisy, melodic, celebratory release from the ever-inventive group.
  12. Feels takes the Collective in an exciting new direction, creating the kind of record that expands on the group's less esoteric strengths while also pushing their sound forward.
  13. 84
It's cosmic Americana as once charted by Mercury Rev in the druggier days of yerself Is Steam and Boces. [#17, p.101]

All of their albums have their own unique sound, it takes a trained ear to notice these but once you do it's amazing how they can create this sound that is so particular to the album. I love this album and I use it to study a lot because I don't know why but the music makes me feel good. Full Review »

The vocal arrangements are beautiful, free-wheeling, and fun. The instrumentation consists of gorgeous piano, guitars plugged into some very odd effects, autoharps. It's a near-perfect album that only drags with the song "Daffy Duck." Full Review »

Another perfect album from one of the greatest bands in the game right now. Without a doubt one of my favorite albums by then and among my favorite of all time. If you like any of the music these guys have made before, and certain after this album, you will enjoy this. Lyrical content is unparalleled, especially if you are in the proper frame of mind. Amazing vocal arrangements, uplifting lyrical content, unique and fresh songwriting approach. Highest recommendation. Full Review »
