  1. Assembled by the album's main beat-peddling prodigy, Lex Luger, they showcase a masterclass in reductionism; juggernauts of hulking, bruising, brick-to-skull intensity.

Flockaveli is delivery-driven, then, in the best possible sense: it is a chorus of proficient, varied flows, avoiding the pitfalls of impotent swag music and pugnacious garishness.

For all the credit given to Luger-- who, in fairness, has upped the bar for rap producers competing with the post-Tunnel nightclub gangster aesthetic-- it's Waka who gives this record its frenetic intensity.

On its own terms, it's a lean, mean success – and questions about longevity can probably wait until the follow-up.

Flockaveli's flaw is not Waka's coarseness, but his generosity--25 guest verses from anonymous Brick Squad cronies suck up air instead of letting Waka breathe without mentor Gucci Mane's oxygen tank.

Waka barely bothers to write rhymes, but Flockaveli is hypnotic, focusing attention on the details beneath the bombast.

Flockaveli is poised to become to the Trap South what Group Home's Livin' Proof means to graduates of NYC's Golden Age: a producer classic littered with verses so whack they become endearing in their special way.

Right now, I am judging this album on what it is. This album is a fun club banger. Lex Luger does make good trap beats. Wacka Flocka FlameRight now, I am judging this album on what it is. This whole site is a jokeSo Waka Flocka has an album that's better than The Eminem Show, MMLP2, and Recovery huh Metacritic? What a disgrace. This whole site is a joke because it's all presented on 1 scale, when obviously critics have different standards for different artists. Collapse
