This album including 'Flockaveli' is as good as gangsta rap got in the 10's.

It ain't hard to find the main subjects of the album. Hustlin', thuggin', money, drugs and women, brought in a very interesting way, by not accepting them as his ideal lifestyle but a necessity to his survival.

To conclude, Jay Rock gave us one of the best and most overlooked projects of the year (2011).

Follow Me Home from Top Dawg Entertainment member Jay Rock brings back the old school west coat hip hop feel to his album. Jay Rock goes hard on his debut album. I love the production on the album, and the beats are dope. Jay Rock brings his A game to his album by having great bars, flow, rapping skills, and his story telling ability. Wow... this was not as good as when I heard it last year...

This was really repetitive and not comparable to most Black Hippy releases. It sounds like a toned down version of what Watts would bump. The only problem with that is people in South Central have a terrible taste in music. I was surprised with how much I liked the features. Lil Wayne murders the last track, Ab Soul murders his

Lil Wayne murders the last track, Ab Soul murders his track, and Kendrick does his think on Hood Gon' Love It. Other than that it sounded like if Dr.Dre dropped Detox

Jay Rock was the first Black Hippy member to really make an impact when he first appeared on the XXL Freshman cover in 2011. Unfortunately he seems to be the most ignored. I was a victim of this until I picked up his latest release, "Follow Me Home." Jay Rock does a good job portraying what it was like growing up in his neighborhood and out on the streets living a thug's life. Jay Rock does a good job portraying what it was like growing up in his neighborhood and out on the streets living a thug's life. He is lyrical, provides some moments with good word play. The thing he lacks is extreme depth. Having heard Jay Rock's other features on other work, he certainly has it in him to be on the same level as the rest of Black Hippy, he just has to put out more work. This album, while enjoyable in its production, flow, and delivery, doesn't break any barriers in hip-hop. It's just a really good west coast gangster hip-hop album. Expand

It could have been a great album. But there are too many tracks, half of the tracks are useless. And it's too repetitive. And, the last track, is a good track, but i'm just tired of see it everywhere in the Jay Rock mix tapes... But, it stays a good album. Hood Gone Love It, No Joke, Elbows, Code Red and Kill or Be Killed are just great. I hope Rock will do something of more good for hisIt could have been a great album. He has a true knack for rhyming about the dangers of the West Coast.

Reflecting the Top Dawg Ent. rapper's lyrics and tone, the album is unapologetic and rugged, but sounds anything but rough.

For now, Follow Me Home is a lowrider journey to California, with many ups and some downs included.
