Their second album brims with crunching guitars, subtle stabs of synth and--more importantly--a winning line in big, anthemic choruses. [Oct 2013, p.102]

The Swedes have stepped it up in the songwriting department.

Not so much a grower as a slow-burning future classic, Forever points to even more exciting things from Holograms as they continue to challenge themselves and expand their vision.

There's not a great deal of progression here but the band have lost none of their bleak, compelling energy. [Aug-Sep 2013, p.102]

Spetze delivers the occasional fresh jolt with his blistering guitar work, and the band’s overall energy level remains high, but the lack of sonic differentiation really sinks this effort.

Holograms have improved on their general songwriting,, but a lot of the songs have the same tempos and they sort of blend together. Plus this albums doesn't really have that "Skater punk" vibe like their self titled did. This album has a lot deeper lyrics but still manages to keep its "It could have been an album made now or an album made 30 years ago" vibe.
Overall..Really good, but not as fun as their self titles
