    Fully Qualified Survivor is one of those albums that make you wish that you had discovered it twenty years ago. Songs here remind me of early Bowie and John Martyn and even Astral Weeks, but the overall impression is of a distinctive voice lost in the music. Committed. Gorgeous and layered. I listened to it yesterday on the South Downs in the sunshine and Fully Qualified Survivor sounded timeless and, at times, magnificent.… Expand

    It's heartfelt. It's dark. It's intricate but immediate, rocking but lush. It does all those things at once, and it does them better than most artists could hope to do any one of them.
