Aug 5, 2010I think a great album can help you remember a particular moment in time. This album does that for me. I wasn't so keen on the album that followed, but I can still listen to Futures from start to finish and enjoy every song-- a very rare thing for me.

RyaMOct 23, 2004a worthy follow up to one of the catchiest records of our generation

guillermocApr 20, 2006its not a bad album but i think it dont have the magic which had "Clarity" or even "Bleed american". the songs are decent but not memorable

[Anonymous]Aug 9, 2007Absolute brilliant Album, that is kind of timeless. Everytime I start to hear it, I almost can't stop. One of the best Albums I've ever bought.

DevinBOct 24, 2004Clarity and Static Prevails were both guilty pleasures of mine: not particularly substanitive, but catchy nonetheless. However, with Futures, Jimmy Eat World has made an album of such unlistenable dreck that it doesn't even pass as the empty-calorie fun of Bleed American. Garbage.

JoshMJan 11, 2005A huge step up from their last album. Less "catchy" melodies and lyrics, but alot more poetic and a more mature album overall. Great CD.

DavidBApr 5, 2005This is decent album from a good and very underrated band! i do prefer the older stuff like static and clarity, but this beats bleed american! the guys who give this 0 are morons and dont say why exactly

ChrisBOct 22, 2004I love this cd, jimmy eat world continues to get better and better. If the only song you know by these guys is The Middle then I feel sorry for you. They are capable of so much and they deliver on this album.

SebB.Dec 25, 2004my fav. songs on this album is Definatly Pain. By far the best song, but I also like Just Tonight, Work, kill and nothingwrong. I think that this CD needs a couple listens before you can really appreciate it.

TravisTOct 26, 2004I cant turn this off, i can listen to every song over and over. Not one bad song on the album.

-
JasonSOct 27, 2004Almost as good as Bleed American, but to expect it to be would be asking too much. This is an album that's grown on me with every listen, and while it's not the singles machine that Bleed American was, this one seems more cohesive.

JoshuaRJun 18, 2007Let down by uninspired single "Work" early on but as the album progresses the songs become ever more magnificent until album closer 23 which left me drained and totally won over

Jan 4, 2020One of the best albums ever imo. Nothingwrong and night drive aren't the strongest songs however Polaris, Kill, Drugs or me and my favorite track of all time, 23 will hit hard. The opening/title track is powerful and stays consistently good. Overall, give this album a listen. It's spectacular

New Musical Express (NME)Another fine fusion of volcanic arena-rock and cherry-poppin' slow burners. [9 Oct 2004, p.56]
-
They've still got the high-energy guitars and the misery-laden vocals. But the songs are longer and trickier.
-
Futures is like a rotten onion, revealing layer upon layer of foulness.
