Dec 19, 2011Haley's output can be enjoyed in one-track doses or complete immersion, and it often inspires YouTube users to upload unofficial videos incorporating fuzzy, dreamlike images from early- to mid-'80s television and film clips.
-
Jul 7, 2011Haley is not attempting anything revolutionary on Galactic Melt, but he demonstrates a sight more depth than a lot of stuff that's been tagged as chillwave.
-
Jul 11, 2011This certainly isn't music to hit the beach by, and it's also not as concerned with maximizing texture as chillwave is, creating some of its most intriguing moments with negative space.
-
MojoDec 12, 2011The soundtrack to an imaginary sci-fi flick about a robot astronaut... Smart, rather moving, proggy, psych-electronica. [Aug. 2011, p. 104]
-
Jul 7, 2011Don't get me wrong: with its staccato, bonus level synth stabs, keening psychedelia and 1980s-drenched drum sounds, Melt is still very identifiably Truise. But with the exception of the banging double whammy of "VHS Sex" and "Cathode Girls", there's nothing much here to suggest that Truise has upped his game in any meaningful way.
-
Aug 29, 2011Galactic Melt is a joyfully faded and distorted take on electro experientialism. Get sucked into its wormhole.
-
Jul 13, 2011As it stands, Galactic Melt is a meticulously crafted offering that, due to the tremendous promise exhibited by Cyanide Sisters, falls short of expectations.
-
Jul 7, 2011Tracks like "VHS Sex," the complex yet laid-back "Glawio," and the robotic apotheosis of "Futureworld" send you hurtling back toward electronica's past perfection.
-
Jul 11, 2011Galactic Melt is a joyfully faded and screwed take on electro experientialism.
-
Jul 7, 201110 tracks of pure seamless joy.
-
Jul 12, 2011The kitsch value may warrant a spin or two for curiosity's sake, but few of the album's 10 productions have the staying power of the musical touchstones Com Truise is referencing.
