There aren't any lackluster songs, and even though the lyrics and the rhymes are digestible on the first listen, they get better with more listens.

If I were asked to document the unrest within Detroit, The Left's Gas Mask would be the backdrop. Journalist 103 and Apollo Brown have created a beautifully ugly masterpiece that seethes with urgency and raises the bar considerably for their peers at home and beyond.

An artistic statement and a brilliant debut, Gas Mask should be Motown's unofficial soundtrack, but its listenership should know no regional boundaries.

A top album! Apollo Brown's beats are inspired. Journalist 103's rhymes are on form. One of the best albums of 2011. I hope people don'tA top album! Apollo Brown's beats are inspired. Journalist 103's rhymes are on form. One of the best albums of 2011. I hope people don't confuse it with old school hip hop because the way the samples and the drums compliment the verses are of too high a standard not to be of this age. Full Review »
