They're so straightforward, you can forget how crafty, even sly, Smash Mouth can get. [Sep 2003, p.129]
  2. Perhaps the formula is wearing just a tad thin. Nevertheless, it's always foolish not to celebrate melody.
  3. Harwell may be the only rocker to sing worse than Ja Rule, but no matter -- his mates are experts in the art of the good-timey throwaway.
  4. Much of Get the Picture? flows together as one long Farfisa-fueled symphony. This is good and bad; what they do, they do well, but it's still rather easy to suggest that each Smash Mouth album has, more or less, sounded like the last.
  5. It's hard to get excited about it, but just as difficult to dislike it.
  6. 37 minutes of breezy melodies, throwaway lyrics, and solo-free arrangements. [8 Aug 2003, p.72]
  7. If nothing really catches hold as a song, there's still a lot of tuneful, appealing material here, and it functions well as a party album for those hot days of summer.
  8. There must be some kind of new world record in terribleness here.
  9. Nauseatingly upbeat. [Oct 2003, p.138]

I have all of their cd's and I must say this is right up there with fush yu mang. All the songs are great, with a few exeptions. This cd I have all of their cd's and I must say this is right up there with fush yu mang. All the songs are great, with a few exeptions. This cd has a few of smash mouth's best songs of all time. My two favorite songs are "Hang On", which is more of a rock song, and "Seventh Grade Dance" which really isn't about a Seventh Grade Dance. The only songs I don't think are great are the really poppy ones. "Whole Lotta Love" is just ok, and the worst song on the cd is their first release, "You Are My Number One." It didn't do that well, to nobodys suprise. I just don't think it is smash mouth's style, it's written by Neil Diamond after all. But I still give give this cd a 10 just because it has so many goods songs on it. Besides the two I mentioned, "Hot", "105", "Lost in Space", "Looking for a Wall", and even the more poppier "Fun" are all great songs. I really wish smash mouth would make more rockish songs like this on their next cd and lay off a little on the really poppy stuff. Full Review »
