this CD is the unsung GEM of 2006. Not one track is unnecessary. Brilliant. Can't wait to hear more from Viva Voce.

this album is not nearly as good as their previous two. it actually gives me headaches to listen to it. there's not much catchiness to it and is way too muddled.

  1. Something so organic it should almost be unrepeatable. [Sep 2006, p.77]
  2. This is stoner rock for the indie set, so every suggestion of Led Zeppelin or Queen gets filtered through a Sonic Youth or Yo La Tengo aesthetic, which helps keep the bombast and pagan iconography at bay.
  3. This is an organic, homegrown creation that sounds as though it's had a lot of time and love invested in it; lend an inquisitive ear and find yourself instantly besotted.
