Although they've dropped two full-lengths since then, PB&J haven't recaptured that ubiquity. But Gimme Some, their sixth album, is crammed with winsome tunes.

Gimme Some reveals a band that is reinvigorated, one that has remembered what it was like to make music without forcing the issue.

Gimme Some, sixth album from Swedish indie pop types Peter, Bjorn And John, is absolutely superb; sunshine and a hundred beach parties stuffed into thirty minutes, sprightly and joyous, cool, confident and glossy.

The energy level is up; the production is clanky and raw; the guitars ring louder, and the drums hit harder. For the first time, Peter Bjorn and John actually sound like--dare we say--a rock band.

Gimme Some's relentless melodicism arrives with a harder edge than the dreamy naivete that powered "Young Folks," but the results frequently feel just as fine. [Jun 2011, p.93]

There's no whistling, but there are plenty of stick-in-your-head moments. At the end of the day, that's what we want from them.

The photo of the band in the CD booklet shows three guys in a tight circle playing heads-down intense, and it feels like this camaraderie and dedication has paid off in a record that may not save their career commercially, but will prove that they are still vital and exciting.

Gimme Some delivers more than a few pop songs, a legitimate pop album written with the subtlety of a band that has come to appreciate, instead of run from, their hit-making ability.

On fifth LP Gimme Some, the Swedish trio has stripped down their sound, and their brand of indie rock has never sounded fresher.

They seem to have stopped trying to subvert their pop nous and accept what they do best, and for the most part it works a treat.

Perhaps it's the introduction of an outside producer (Per Sunding) for the first time, but they're sounding like a band with something to prove.

If the least they do is keep revealing new shades of the familiar, it's worth sticking around and seeing this band through.

Gimme Some surfaces from more of a basic power trio sound without straying too far from indie-pop roots.

Gimme Some is retreat to light-hearted pop after the coolly received electro experiments of 2009's Living Thing. The style suits them, even when the substance is lacking.

These guys are capable musicians and studio heads, and mechanically speaking, these are fine pop songs-- well crafted, ably produced, everything in its right place-- but they don't particularly move you.
