  1. There is some irony in following up a record called We Fight Til Death with one titled (and as vital as) Giving Up The Ghost. However, Windsor For The Derby doesn't sound as if it has succumbed to anything save for its singular atmospheric pop tendencies.
  2. For all its faraway humming and quietly steady pace, Windsor for the Derby has still made a "band" album.
  3. Far from snuffing out, Windsor For The Derby sounds like a band with a new lease on life.
  4. May stand as the band's most focused disc to date.
  5. Giving up the Ghost is the type of album to play as background music at a party when no one has to pay too much attention to it. Then afterwards, everyone remembers how hip and cool the music sounded. It's often propulsive, sometimes memorable, but only half extraordinary.
  6. Ghost lacks the dynamic swing of much of their past material, content to move towards unnecessary cohesion, one that takes all the wide-pupil joy out of their songs.
  7. An album full of promise but low on result.

I've been a fan forever and love how this record is so in line with their others but also really different.
