Nov 4, 2022Just slightly better then the god awful film its based around. Glitter is a prime example of how to not make a successful soundtrack album.
-
Nov 9, 2022"You dont wanna hear about 9/11" Mariah Carey is so vein and Vapid this album flopped and has poor reviews because it sucks not because of a NATIONAL TRAGEDY!
-
Nov 9, 2022The real tragedy that happened on 9/11 was her releasing this terrible album, and then her making light of the situation 20+ years later shamelessly plugging herself.
-
Nov 9, 2022Queen of 9/11 she's such a narcissistic and vile woman, her career is based on chart manipulation and sleeping with the record label president and then marrying him to stay ontop. Trash
-
Nov 9, 2022Such a terrible film and even more terrible album, all the songs have bad vocals and terrible production. They sound so cheap.

JayMDec 25, 2006Despite the negative aura around this album, it is Carey's best work. A fresh blend of bubble-gum pop, hip-hop and 1980's beats, and a different feel to each song, "Glitter" is much more than gold

Feb 21, 2015A wronged album. Once for all, its one of the most inteligent work of pop music. The Way Mariahs wanted to make the music match with movie is so fantastic. And finally the best dance album of her, differentiating her from boring singer of R&B Like Celine Dion.
-
Jul 3, 2015Glittler is an album ahead of its time. Definitely She combined R & B and Hip-Hop and Pop, also disco music in '' Last Night a DJ Saved My Life '' In a way it have never done before on her last Albuns.

Aug 13, 2020Es un álbum muy bueno y tiene canciones como lead the way que marcan su rango vocal el cual es magnífico
-
Feb 17, 2021It's a shame that such a talented singer like Mariah, who had once given us such great albums, wanted to deliver a project like this, which, nevertheless being a movie soundtrack, really lacks truth, ending up being a collection of forgetable songs.

Feb 16, 2019only 1 decent song, the rest of the album is a mess, the production is all over the place and lyric wise there is not much to talk about
-
Nov 10, 2015Despite everything that happened on September 11, the material had a great dance and retro footprint which was later used by Madonna, Brunno Mars and others, it is amazing how she can go from one extreme to another.
-
PaulF.Oct 21, 2001What has happened to her??? Once in competition with Whitney and now can on strain the notes out. Sort your throat out girl!! you are going out not with a bang

Dec 12, 2013Besides the deadly mistake of this soundtrack be released precisely on the 11th of September, Mariah wrongdoing with the overflow of guests on your disk, end up leaving it as an guest to their own work. Mariah brings the your best 90s in "Lead the Way" and "Never Too Far", rescues the disco era on tracks like "Wanted You" and 1982 cover the Indeep group, "Last Night DJ Saved My Life".

Aug 23, 2020Mariah Carey's unique 2001 album [Glitter] was a one-off Virgin release until she just underwent the Island Def Jam Music Group/Def Jam Recordings years, between 2002 and 2015.

Feb 12, 2022A maior injustiça e desastre foi esse album ser lançado no mesmo dia do atentado de 11 de setembro

LesM.Oct 30, 2001I think this album is great. Mariah Carey is glowing in this glitter album! It is not true she is going down because I think that all this negative commentaries are just making her triumph at this point. It is just a matter of publicity. I think her voice is awesome and the songs are sang with lots of heart.

UweL.Aug 24, 2001it's her best since "Butterfly"

EllenR.Sep 19, 2001mariah should look inside herself and stop trying to be a teenybop star. showing alittle emotional depth(even if theres some insanity down there)would be good for her down the road. shes as fake as her boobs.

-
Z-manB.Sep 20, 2001It's a load of sweet-poo-poo, totally disgusting and soullless

Awards & Rankings
-
Jul 1, 2014While the album may have its flaws, it is for the most part a successful period piece that clearly displays Carey's appreciation for all that has come before her.
-
While Carey has never been a particularly confessional musician, Glitter seems a step in a more cathartic direction, from which subsequent albums should no doubt benefit.
-
BlenderAfter years of trading her signature flourishes for a radio-ready purr, she's left with almost no presence at all. [Aug/Sep 2001, p.118]
