Arrogance is the name of the game here and this record overflows with it. It's angry ,misogynistic and frustrating. It poses as anarchist and political when in fact it's just an edgelords attempt to set themselves apart from the crowd as misanthropic skater kid.

Edgy for the sake of being edgy, stick it to the man and the media blah blah blah. We've all heard an album like this before. This album is the definition of growing pains. Bland production from early Tyler and lyrics that exist just to exist. I will admit that the lyricism is creative, but in the end it doesn't mean much of anything. This is one of the two sore spots in Tyler'sEdgy for the sake of being edgy, stick it to the man and the media blah blah blah. We've all heard an album like this before. This album is the definition of growing pains. Bland production from early Tyler and lyrics that exist just to exist. I will admit that the lyricism is creative, but in the end it doesn't mean much of anything. This is one of the two sore spots in Tyler's discography, along with the album that came before it. It's a shame, considering the next album and the ones to follow are such great pieces of work. If you are a fan of Tyler, the creator and haven't given this a listen, you owe that to yourself just to see how much he's grown. Expand

This album has his tracks, but some songs are just made to make the album longer. Not even the deluxe makes it good.
    Worst Tyler project.
Not worth the listen. The only tracks to give a listen are "Yonkers", "She", "Radical", "Analog" and "Tron Cat"

Tyler is easily overrated. No flow, no lyrics, no style, hell the songs aren't even catchy. Shock value, shock value, Shock value. Gimmick with no substance lyrically or emotionally. I am a sucker for horrorcore but tyler has no skills period. Apparently theres some deep hidden message but who cares when the music sounds like garbage...

Tyler's 2nd album Goblin is characterised by some of his weakest production, flows and the excessive amounts of unnecessary shock humour.

Irksome and intriguing, compelling and calculated, Goblin confounds at every turn. [Aug. 2011, p. 104]

This album then delivers anger, honesty and arrogance, all in sporadic scatter-gun fashion: the overriding feeling is confused, uncertain, often unreasonable, but ultimately well intentioned.

It's a shame that the the young skate rat seems to be so caught up in his own hype, as beneath the bluster and amped-up angst, there is something interesting going on. [Jul 2011, p.54]
