Let your guard down and jam some Bizkit.

Gold Cobra reminds us of how much fun a tight, no-holds-barred rap-metal record can be in the right hands.

So is it any good? Does it matter? Limp Bizkit are bigger than ever before so getcha groove on, stop taking things seriously.

Gold Cobra props itself up as the best thing we've seen from our most hated band since even 1997, and the two albums following that had enough singles to fill a greatest hits compilation one record ahead of schedule.

With the exception of the always inventive playing of guitarist Wes Borland, here Limp Bizkit sound like a band whose time has passed. Given that this is a group that boorishly exemplified the empty materialism and crass self-centredness that lurked at nu-metal's core, this is surely no bad thing.

The album plays to the band's strengths, but there's simply nothing here as catchy as "My Way" or as infectiously fun as "Break Stuff."

It's difficult to believe Limp Bizkit could return after all this time somehow even more hateful than before.

"We decided we were more disgusted and bored with the state of heavy popular music than we were with each other. Regardless of where our separate paths have taken us, we recognize there is a powerful and unique energy with this particular group of people we have not found anywhere else. This is why Limp Bizkit is back." Wes Borland-- i concur sir! Expand

i got his cd yesterday, and listened it over and over again. Limp bizkit follows its old music, but with better lyrics, and better rhythm. Thei got his cd yesterday, and listened it over and over again. Limp bizkit follows its old music, but with better lyrics, and better rhythm. The songs are in my opinion also harder than 10 years ago. The song Gold Cobra is simply amazing. The album is a must buy for lb fans, but those who never were into them, should try this album anyways. Expand

A very overlooked album, which is actually one of their best works since 2000.

LB has always made betterThis isn't the gold standard for originality, but it might be for sticking to your guns. Bizkit is what it is. LB has always made better overall music than they are ever given credit for. Durst's 'contributions' are just as dull as they ever have been. But he's the reason anyone cares. Sometimes a negative is a positive, and with Bizkit this is the case. If you had a bias against Bizkit in the past, 'Gold Cobra' will only cement your opinion. That said, if you were ever a fan of 90's rap-rock (which was more of a precursor to nu metal than part of it) then 'Gold Cobra' will fit nicely into your rotation. Overall, this is the best effort out of Bizkit since 'Significant Other' which says something in itself. Expand

The album isAfter the masterpiece that was The Unquestionable Truth (Part 1), Limp Bizkit comes back with another album called Gold Cobra. The album is not as good as most of their previous work... actually it's only better than Results May Vary. All the other albums are better than this, but it's not a bad record by any means. Gold Cobra also marks the first guitar solo in LB career. The solo is featured on the track "Killer In You" and it's the best track on the album too. The other interesting tracks include: Get A Life, Why Try, Shotgun, Gold Cobra and Autotunage. The rest of tracks are rather average. The bonus tracks on the other hand are mostly awful and I'm glad they didn't include them on the standard version. The only bonus, that should be on the standard version is Los Angeles. All in all, this is a nice album, that I come back to once a year. Check it out, if you haven't yet. Pickens approves! Expand

It provided us with greats such as Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Rage Against the Machine, Soundgarden and a host of others, but it also steam-rolled our ear-buds with Limp Bizkit. A band that had moments of brilliance, but for the most part it was dogged down by Dursts mediocrity. It comes no surprise that Gold Cobra isn't a step into the new millennium, but rather a collection of 90s nu metal, served in a shiny new wrapper. Great for annoying the Hannah Montana kids, but dismal for personal enjoyment. Expand
