The title of the project is 'Habits & Contradictions' so before i listened to this album I thought the theme would be about his or someone Habits & Contradictions. But when i listened to it, It did not seem like that, I mean Q seems to have a made a some sort of an attempt at addressing those habits, but instead he just sounds excited at all the "Habits". Another thing that I don't really care for about the album is that, the only thing that's mainly talked about is Sex and Weed, which I never really mind that a rapper talks about sometimes because that's just part of being a rapper, but when it's the main to only thing you talk about, It kind of just gets boring and repetitive. And that applies too alot of things, If an album was talking about one person for the most part, it can get kind of boring. But there were still some good tracks on this album, the production overall was alright, lyricism was decent in some places, features were pretty good too, It's just that 75% of the songs failed to really interest me. My Favourite Tracks Were: 'My Homie', 'Blessed', and '2 Raw' Expand

Habits & Contradictions by ScHoolboy Q is very underrated. I like the production on the album, I love the features on the Album, and all eighteen songs on the album are dope. Its one of the most underrated albums of 2012. I Highly Recommended.

Amazing album, this is Q at his very best. Everything from the lyrics, flow, and production is just incredible. One of my favorite rap albums of 2012 along with Control System & GKMC.

ScHoolboy Q is probably on the same level as A$AP Rocky in that his subject matter is very limited. Lyrically he's not the best in TDE. But why he stands out in the group is he can make music on the level of the listener. I'm a huge fan of Kendrick Soul but you can make the arguement that sometimes they are TOO preachy. Q is not that kind of artist, he tells it to you like it is. And thisScHoolboy Q is probably on the same level as A$AP Rocky in that his subject matter is very limited. I'm a huge fan of Kendrick Soul but you can make the arguement that sometimes they are TOO preachy. Q is not that kind of artist, he tells it to you like it is. And this album proves it. The first 3 songs: Sacrilegious, There He Go and Hands On The Wheel are very dark tracks. There He Go is him changing his voice so he sounds ADD-ish, like Nicki Minaj only better. Sacrilegious is a song about broken promises, how he doesn't follow a religion and so on. While Hands On The Wheel is mostly dark because of the beat and the sample of some chick performing Pursuit Of Happiness. But the song is pretty much about what he Rocky love: weed brews. Blessed is a personal song. While My Homie tells a story about how one of his best friends him over. Some more songs that stand out are Oxy Music, Raymond 1969, Druggies With Hoes Again and Nightmare On Figg St. My issue is that while he does try to do a lot. Not everything goes well, the last song gets really repetitive and annoying, Sex Drive isn't that good, Sexting isn't better and Gangsta In Designer is a really pointless song. But overall Q dropped a dope album. I can't say it's great though because it's too spotty. Expand

Schoolboy Q is the most exciting thing to happen to rap since 2004. He distills the raw "Gangsta rap" sound of the early-'90s and combines it with relevant, white-hot lyrics that are sure to have hip hop heads noddin'. Highlights include "Sacrilegious", "Oxy Music", "Hands on the Wheel" and "There He Go".

Very classic album Schoolboy Q did it again. His mixtapes & albums are instant classics. He taking hip hop by storm and he's bringing it back to the top of the food chain

Nothing new, but definitely a good album, well produced and performed better. From an independent album, perhaps one can not expect better, but between "Section.80" and "Habits & Contraddiction" certainly prefer Schoolboy Q.

TDE! Dope from start to finish. Sacreligious, Hands on the Wheel, Blessed, and There He Go are my favorites. I desperately need a Black Hippy album (kendrick lamar, ab soul, schoolboy q, and jay rock) The songs they have now are so freaking good.

Q's energetic, exuberant delivery is frames by some impressive and varied production throughout. [Jun 2012, p.108]

Habits & Contradictions is less like a label-released full-length and more like an amateurish mixtape, a work in progress.

Habits & Contradictions is a pleasurable listen with head-scratchingly pretty samplings and lyrics more or less liberated from value care of Q's devotion to "weed and brews" and the delirious enjoyment of something so simple as saying "fuck" a lot.
