As holdover until the next album, He Gets Me High does exactly what it should: raise anticipation for what comes next.

Altogether, He Gets Me High is a quick fix, lasting about as long as two games of seven minutes in heaven. Of course, that's plenty of time if you're playing with right girls.

Rare is the EP that sounds so crucial to an artist's catalog and narrative, but it won't be surprising to look back on this release in a few years and see it as pivotal in Dum Dum Girls' career.

This brief collection of tracks shows growth and expansion whilst maintaining the addictive pop elements and retro recording style that made us fall in love with I Will Be.

It's a shame this little team [Dee Dee, producer Gottehrer and Raveonettes' Wagner]couldn't make more records like this.

While it's a very short experience, that works in the band's favor, eliminating the filler that plagues many albums these days. Combine catchy melodies in every original song with a pretty awesome cover of The Smiths and you have a project that's definitely worth a listen and probably worth a purchase.

No matter how sweet blink-or-you'll-miss-'em offerings "Wrong Feels Right" and the title track are at points (especially during the pre-choruses), He Gets Me High ultimately proves to be empty calories.
