The perfect soundtrack for the summer we never had.

Both as performers and songwriters, these guys have upped their game, and Head Down puts them well ahead of the pack.

They craft near-perfect garage-rock songs to hang the thrills and frills from. [22 Sep 2012, p.53]

A powerhouse of big riffed rock 'n' roll drenched in '70s sunshine. [Sep 2012, p.110]

Head Down sounds highly-charged and fresh. [Dec 2012, p.84]

Give this West Coast quartet credit for honing its sound on this, the group’s third album.

Their clichéd soundbites aside, there's much to enjoy on this typically ballsy and no-nonsense follow-up to 2011 breakthrough Pressure & Time.

This is an album I think Zeppelin would make if they were to make an album now and still have all their skill, power and energy. Rival Sons sound so huge on this, and I wonder how these guys aren't the most well known and most respected band out there now. Hopefully the public will catch on. Expand
